What future for GM6MEN-L, the Perth Echolink gateway?

Posted by gm4uls on April 11, 2013

At the moment the link is not operational, but I am working on finding a fix.

Meanwhile, I’m not getting Echo Mac to work properly on the two Apple computers on which it is installed (an iMac and  a Mac Book Pro). This might be a problem related to the new AirPort Extreme router, although I’m avoiding the trap of post hoc ergo propter hoc, because it is a long while since I have run Echo Mac. As you can see from the illustration below, I can persuade Echo Mac to show me a list of the nodes currently online, so there is some sort of connection there. However I can’t connect to any of them. It could be a port issue, but that begs a few more questions. Loss of Echo Mac doesn’t matter too much as I wasn’t using it heavily, but it’s a bit of a blow when combined with the loss of Echolink.

Set AirPort Extrem under “Network” “Router Modus” into “Bridge Mode” and it might work!
